There is a bus number X1 from Airport to KTEL (Central bus station) going every 30 minutes or the bus number N1 during the night. The duration is 40-50 minutes and the ticket costs 2 euro which you can buy right in the bus (the machine doesn’t give change) or in front of the bus station. Children below 6 years old travel for free and people above 65 years old have a 50% discount. Go out in the last station called KTEL and go to the window number 6 where it’s written Kavala. There you can purchase a ticket that costs 30 euro both ways (if you buy one way only it will cost 17 euro). The bus leaves every hour from platform 6 and the duration is approximately 2-3 hours depending on the route. There are also express buses at 9.00, 13.00 and 17.00 the duration of which is 1 hour 40 minutes. The bus will bring you right to the city center of Kavala. A faster way to get to the Island of Thassos is by ferries from the nearby town of Keramoti, from which ferries depart every 15 minutes from early morning till late evening and arrive in the capital of the island - in the city of Limenas, and the trip lasts only 20 minutes.
